We assigned pick 44 to the wrong club and so rated St Kilda as giving up a lot more than they did, and Essendon as much bigger winners than they were. That post has been updated and linked to above with commentary to reflect the actual state of affairs.
In a nutshell, compared to the swap of 5 for Carlisle directly, St Kilda upgraded pick 24 to 14 as well, while Essendon gained Bird for 44. It worked out a very even trade with them both gaining slightly. Our reading of Sydney remains the same.
