After a long time haggling, the most anticipated move of the trade period has been completed just before deadline. We say anticipated because since Ablett decamped to the Gold Coast there were rumours circulating about his return. This is a joyous day for all of us sick of hearing those rumours.
In the end the trade for Ablett was rational for both sides. If fit, Ablett will outperform his projection, but it’s hard to see him doing so by a great deal considering his age and health. When he is on the field he is still a great player – but the getting on the field part is still a high hurdle right now.
